TUI Nordic commence operations to Maldives

TUI Nordic’s first flight to the Maldives in 15 years will be arriving Male’ International Airport today (2 November 2008), according to a press statement issued by Inner Maldives Holidays, a popular travel company which boasts Maldives largest inbound travel network.

According to Inner Maldives, TUI fly Nordic will be flying from Stockholm fortnightly (Sunday) effective 2 November 2008 till 7 May 2008. The airline will be using Boeing 767(300) with a flight capacity of 30 business class passengers and 283 economy class passengers. The airline currently operates in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.

TUI fly Nordic is part of the world’s largest charter company group, TUI Airlines. There are also Thomsonfly in England, TUIfly in Germany, Jetairfly in Belgium, Corsaifly in France and Arkefly in Holland. TUIfly Nordic mainly operates for leisure in the Nordic region and has 6 aircraft. The combined fleet of TUI Airlines consists of over 150 Aircrafts.

TUI fly Nordic’s local agent in Maldives is Inner Maldives Holidays. Inner Maldives, in the statement has expressed hope that the new charter flight from Scandinavia will be further opportunities for the Maldives tourism to expand.

Inner Maldives Holidays since its inception in 1988 has been engaged in providing tour operator services to the country’s tourism industry. The company since then has grown to become the market leader with an annual turn over of UD $ 6 Million in 2007, representing 21 % of the entire tourist market.
